    Default Little Advice

Hi all; was taking pic's of Saturn last night. Was using a Phillips toucan webcam, IR blocking filter with a 2x Barlow. This pic was about 1 minute of tracking then stack in registax. How can I get it to not look so bright?

    Hi Bradley,

I am still learning, but I understand that it is best if you make adjustments to the gain, exposure, and offset during capture so that the target is a bit dim. Then once all 'dim' frames are stacked, they will not be over exposed. Then further adjustments can be made to the stacked image.

Here is one of my past attempts....

parrish is about right - sorry, once it's overexposed, it's difficult to get the saturation out without destroying the image

In the Philips control panel (also shown in K3CCDTools) there is a shutter/exposure setting as well if I am not mistaken.
