Default Saturn & Venus 10th Jan.....

So-so seeing conditions with a fine haze exacerbating things further on the morning of Jan 10th early this week: blue channel was abysmal but the red channel was reasonable.....although going through the frames many had distorted disks and "buckled" belts/rings - a sure sign of bad atmospherics!

But using the red channel as an extra luminance channel created quite an acceptable end-image despite everything - here's the r-rgb and the red channel used to make said.....and finished off the morning imaging session with some ir742nm Venus captures.

Awesome pics. I'm glad to see Saturns rings in a little more favorable position this year. I haven't seen Saturn yet this season, but reallly looking forward to it. I'm just too much of a wus to stay up till dawn in 15 deg weather to get an early view. Thanks for sharing those awesome pics.
