My name is Rej Desjardins, I live just outside of Calgary Alberta. I have only been into astronomy for about 9 months. I am completely hooked. I enjoying viewing anything I can see. I am about to build my first scope, a 12" f/5.1 reflector and I am very excited about it. I recently went to a Messier Marathon and managed to bag 90 objects. I was very pleased with that. I am also a member of the RASC and find it to be very beneficial. I like to attend their NOVA (new observers to visual astronomy) meetings. Looking forward to meeting more local people.

My name is Enrico Bandolin, and I live in Calgary, AB, and I'm almost 20. I was born in Brazil, and at 11 years of age moved to Italy, or rather went back to Italy since I have Italian blood in me, than, at age 15-16 I came to Canada. I speak Italian, Portuguese, and of course English. (the last one not that good, I know)
Well, enough of the boring stuff.

I've been into serious astronomy for only a month, but always have been fascinated by the night sky. Especially the clear skies I had in Brazil, although I don't remember much, now that I know about what good seeing conditions look like, it was damn good. Really dark and with lots of stars. I always commented about how many more stars I could see in brasil, but never imagine it would come to be an inportant factor to me. Since I was born there, It's definitely the place I want to go when retired. Italy? not so good, about the same as here from where I lived in Treviso, Veneto, about more or less than an hour from Venice.

About a month ago I decided to get a scope, but ended up with a pair of binocs instead, for 90 bucks, never thought I'd be able to see so much.

In the next months I'll be getting a dob, and later one I plan on getting both a refractor, and a Celestron Edge HD for astrophotography on GEMs, and a nice Canon camera.

I'm not part of any clubs yet, nor do I know anybody else but Ken from All-Star Telescope that have the same interest in Astronomy. I plan on getting a car and my drover's license soon (really, still don't have mine, but it's not my fault) so I can be more free to do these stuff on my own.

The name is Jason (or Jay) from the Toronto area. I've been into astronomy ever since I could remember. I got my first telescope at round age 7 which was one of those department store trash scopes and did not see anything really with it. My first major scope was a 4.5" Newtonian which I still own to this day. I also collect meteorites through I am planning on slowly getting out of that hobby to focus all my attention on astrophotography. I currently own 3 scopes, the 4.5" newtonian, a Celestron Omni XLT127 & a Meade LXD55 SN10 as well as some other toys.
I was formally a member of the Toronto Centre of the RASC, then took a break from astronomy to focus on the post-highschool point in life. Now that I have a steady career an income I am diving headfirst into astronomy again and loving every minute of it. I am also a current member of the Mississauga Centre of the RASC. Other related hobbies are physics, astrophysics, planetary geology, particle physics and really any other nerdy hobby you can think of. I also spend quite a bit of time doing tactical firearms training and have gotten quite good at that in the event of a zombie outbreak.

Hi all, I'm Dave from Scarborough.

I'm just getting in to astronomy with my department store Tasco 4.5" reflector. It's actually not too bad with the additional EPs I bought.

I've been in to science, sci-fi and nerdy things in general for as long as I can remember. I'm a web developer and have been programming since I was in my early teens.

I love to read and learn about particle physics (and just physics in general) and my passion, ultimately, is learning how things work. Computers, cars, the universe, you name it.

I'm also interested in disaster preparation and survival. The more prepared I can be in case of a zombie outbreak the better.

    Hey guys!
My name is Nikita (male) and i am twenty years of age! I was born in Riga, Latvia and spent a big part of my upbringing in Russia and Ukraine! I have always loved astronomy, and spent a lot of time stargazing as a little child, as well as listening to captivating stories about MIR and Russian astronauts from my grandparents! I have spent a lot of time reading astronomy and astrophysics related material, but only recently decided to buy myself a telescope! I have a few more months before the actual purchase, so for now i am spending my time enjoying the night skies with my naked eyes. I am living in St. Catharines, Ontario at this moment, but will be moving to Toronto sometime later this year in order to study astrophysics in U of T as of next summer.

    Hi Everyone,

I always loved astronomy and decided to dive into astrophotography. I live in Vancouver and have decided to buy the CGEM 800 HD as it sounds like a good entry level package. Haven't decided on the guide scope or what else i would need. People here have been really helpful in forwarding me towards the right direction.

I just need to find a local group now so i can see the various telescopes and how they feel like.

Hoping to get lost in deep space.

    Hello/Bonjour Canada!

My name is Brandon, and I'm from the Deep south of Canada. :P

I have been into astronomy for a little while now. I'm 14 years old, and I have probably been into astronomy since I was 4 or 5. I just liked looking at the stars then and looking for constellations. Then, I got a pair of binoculars, and it really got me into astronomy. I was amazing of what I could see just with a pair of binoculars. I was seeing very low magnitude stars that I could not see with my naked eye. Then a few years ago I got a cheap, shelf model 2.5" telescope. That's when I started looking at the planets and looking for deeper sky objects. To sum it up in one word: amazing.

I hope to persue a career in astronomy someday. I would like to join my local RASC group; I'm sure it would help a lot.

Well, enough blabbering. I should go print out my sky charts for tonight.

    Richard here.

I'm in Ottawa, Ontario. Active in the Ottawa centre of RASC, and in the OAFs group. I'm particularly interested in public outreach, love doing sidewalk astronomy, and am crawling up the learning curve of astrophotography.
