1. Another try at first AP light for my site

    After Sunday night's attempt getting cancelled for high wind, I am going to make another attempt tonight to get my first images from my new site. The sky is clear and the breeze is considerably lighter than Sunday night. Seeing is forecast to be poor, but who cares?

  2. Great sky

    Our first night close to our new home, and I went out late to let the dog do her business. The sky here is gorgeous. There is definitely less sky light than where we came from, and the transparency was better. So this looks like a good move.

    I don't have binos or a scope with me, so the observing was naked eye only. Jupiter was low in the west. I couldn't tell which was Saturn, so I'll have to check Stellarium before heading out tonight. I'm not used to seeing Saturn, since ...
  3. Arrived Onsite

    My wife and I arrived at our new property today for the first time together. (I have seen it previously on my house hunting trip.) It is as good as we thought it would be. The observatory site will be perfect. Moderate obstructions to the south-east and north-east, but clear views from south around through west to north.

    I'll have to wait for my tools to arrive before I find out how the subsoil is for digging foundations and trenching.
