Binoculars or Spotting Scope for Elk Hunting?

What power should be used?

Good Binos, not a cheap pair. Spotting scopes are bulky and hard to focus in a hurry....besides if you need x60 magnification, he's probably too far away.

You need both, but I think the binoculars are more important. I like Nikon Monarchs 10X42
