what is the best binocular if i want to watch boats far in the ocean

Default what is the best binocular if i want to watch boats far in the ocean

from my house, for about $100? I want to be able to see a boat a couple miles out pretty closely.

that's kinda weird, you should get a normal hobby, anyone who watches other people as a hobby or as their job is a freak

Probably 10X50 would be your best bet. Any bigger magnification will require a tripod.
However, if you're observing during the day, then the size of the objective is less important than the magnification.
Bring the 1st number as high as 12 if you like.
But the 10X50 is the best all around bet in case you get tired of spying on boats and want to look up at night.
