    Default New Toy! Celestron 12x60

I just picked up a pair of Celestron 12x60 binoculars for the truck. I have 159 acres of soybean in a hollow. I wanted a pair to keep in the truck for late evenings coming out of the field. I thought it might be nice to stop and linger a while and catch the first hour of darkness from a dark agricultural field, away from the city lights.

Nice! I keep the old 10x50s in the truck as my beater pair. They go with me camping and out running the rivers and lakes in the kayak. They've seen their share of dark skies and a lot more too.

    Hello Sixfalls,

the 12x60 are a very good choice for nice relaxed observing the night skies, certainly better than all budget 10x50.

I have had similar 12x60 for my trip to South Africa in past, and enjoyed the views of the southern skies greatly.

    Clear skies,

    JG

    Hi Sixfalls,

I just picked up the same Celestron 12x60's as well. After trying to decide between the 12x60 and 15x70 I'm glad I chose these. Great views and easy to hold steady. I brought them on a trip to Ashland Or. and I was able to find many DSO's on my outing!

Nice choice, I have 9x63, they are my favourite. I keep the old 7x50 in the car.
It's fun scanning the twilight skies and even fields for wildlife.
    Enjoy

Ive really enjoyed the Celestron 12x60 binos. My astronomy buddy, (the black cat), is staying in tonight where it's warm. I'm just going out for a quick glance around. Perfect for binoculars.
