Hi Bill, thanks for that link. I may have to collimate mine. Haven't had a whole lot of time with them yet. Saw Jupiter this morning, but didn't use a tripod, and I saw the Orion Nebula, more forgiving than Jupiter. I purchased an adapter already, the adapter that came with them isn't strong enough In my humble opinion.

The case and the strap that came with the binoculars are very lacking. Can anyone suggest a better case and strap? Thanks.

I have a pair of 25x70 Celestron binoculars. If I had it to do over again, I'd opt for the 15x70's.

The 25x70's are just too much to hold steady unless you use a tripod. I tried fairly good tripods, but had to buy a very heavy duty commercial movie tripod to get them stable. (They're now my wife's favorite viewer when I'm searching for other "stuff" to view with the Dob.)

Additionally, the tripod mount that came with the Celestrons is totally useless with such a heavy load... basically plastic "junk". I looked around for another mount, but ended up building one from some steel brackets (2) that I found at Home Depot. Below are pics of the home made mount with the tripod base. With this rig, they are very stable (finally). On a good seeing night, the moons of Juipter are clearly visible.
