    Question Alignmaster ????

Hello everyone I have recently purchased a program called alignmaster, has anyone else here played with it ? and if so what is you opinion ??
I haven't been able to try it out yes as winter has arrived and so have the clouds, rain, wind, and every other hindering element that exists
I will be using it with my AZ EQ6 GT mount via a shoestring cable straight into the mount bypassing the Synscan handset..

    All feedback welcome

Great program. I use every time for polar alignment. You need to repeat your the alignnment process two or three times to get it really accurate and that should get you with 2-3 arc secs. I can usually get my alignment in about 10 mins

I have a text file with more southern alignment stars, if you like I can send you a pm with the file.

Hi Rod, Yes, that would be great, I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain ? Once I have been through the whole alignment procedure with Alignmaster, and park the scope in home position, can I then plug the Synscan handset back into the mount and carry on as usual ?

    Hi Ice,

I acquired this program at the beginning of this month and have had the opportunity to use it once. It seems very straight forward and easy to use, especially if you're using your camera/autoguider to look at the assigned star. I'm told using this program along with Astro Tortilla and your mount is good to go for very accurate guiding.

    Ivan,
I run my NEQ6 via the laptop using EQmod. I use my hand controller to set the time, date and location then switch it to PC Direct and don't use it again. I run Stellariumscope to control the scope, BYE to control the camera and guide using PHD. Once I've polar aligned I don't park the scope at all, from then on I'm either observing or photoing.

I'll pm the text file shortly.

I've attached the file (couldn't upload in a PM). Check your alignmaster directory, you should have a file aleady there called sterne.txt. Rename that file (eg sterneold.txt) then add this new file. It has a lost more southern hemisphere stars to help alignment. You will need to be able to see south for Alignmaster to wor .

Hello. Does anyone have or tell me where I can obtain Alignmaster with it’s serial number please? it seems that it’s no longer available. I would prefer one of the latest versions, if possible. I have been scouring different sites without much success. I located one download, version 1.7, but it requires the serial number to register it. I am willing to pay for a copy if anyone can help. Dave.

Any newer goto mount would have a better alignment program than this I imagine, if you are using a laptop at your telescope then using platesolving would likely be more accurate and easier.
