    Default If I ever get aperture fever...



    ......I am going to build a 10" or 12" version of this.
    Meade 16" LightBridge; Celestron G-8N Bird-Jones/motorized EQ5; Orion 127 Mak/go-to EQ5; Burgess 127f8 refractor; Sky-Watcher 5" F/5 collapsible dob; 90mm Mak/motorized EQ2; Royal Astro 76/910-GEM; Meade 60x700 refractor/alt/az; Zhumell 25x100 Coin Ops; GalilleoScope. Celestron 8mm-24mm zoom; lots of fixed EPs,some good, some..not so much. A small collection of surveying instruments; a forest of tripods; Canon Rebel Xti. Confirmed gadget junkie; Custodian of the Magnetic North Pole (Send $1.00 to Pierre each time you use a compass.)

    I almost got the 15" version but opted for the classic because the nakedness of the primary so low to the ground worried me.

    Orion is supposed to be coming out with a 16" model very similar to these.

    Just curious.

    How much more/better would you see with that quality telescope compared to a Skywatcher 10" Dob?

    After looking through some quality eyepieces after getting my scope fine tuned, I was amazed how much difference a good eyepiece makes.

    Would the quality of spending about 5K be worth it in the end compared to about $700?

    I would never have enough $ to spend 5K on a scope, but I could dream about it.
