    Default Another diy chair

    Hi all
The weather is cold cloudy and very wet so I decided to do a project , I have a stack of rough
cut red oak boards and white oak also . I fired up the old wood planner and went to work
building an observing chair for the Clarjo observatory which houses my 16" go to dob.
I can sit and observe from the horizon to an eye piece height of 74".
It seems to very sturdy and stable.
One of favorite things on this project it didn't cost me a dime for any thing the only
expense was the electricity to run my equipment.
    Thanks for looking.
    Rob

Wow that is really nice! Puts mine to shame.

    Especially like the foot rest!

Did you have a set of plans for this?

Very nice. You have dimensions on this thing?

Free? You just happened to have some rough cut oak and a planer lying around.

    Hi all
The lumber come from the woods by my property the trees were cut by my son and the old guy who owned the property he had it sawed up and they stacked it in the barn and it set there for at least 10 years.
The old guy died and his son was the attorney that handled my parents estate he told my son he could have the
stack of wood if he wanted it so now it sets in my work shop . I have a 12" wood planner and use it to plane the lumber and make things.
The plans came from my head Although the design is not mine as you all know but I came up with all the dimensions
as I built it. They are simple to make , I could add some dimensions to pics and post them here if you like.

    Heck yeah,

Take out the ruler and measure that bad boy. It really caught my eye because you say it works perfectly on your 16" dob.

You did a fine job on this. Thanks for sharing.
