Will post it, could take time as there are more projects on the go.

Very interesting to know what are you using in the case, helps to plan ahead.

For cutting foam to fit eyepieces, someone else posted here that they used a piece of 2" PVC pipe with the interior shaved/cut/tapered to that it made a relatively sharp edge, kind of like a long cookie cutter. Can't find the post right now, but it's here somewhere.

Here's a link to another discussion about storage that uses PVC Pipe to cut holes for eyepieces.

I know some people actually spray the foam down with a spray bottle with water in it...freeze it for a little while...just enough to get it firmed-up a bit...then use either a hole saw, or piece of PVC pipe (kinda sharp), and this can make a nice circle cut-out, without ripping or tearing the foam. This will give you that perfect hole for each EP. As for square-shaped holes, maybe an exacto-knife?

HI, I cut my holes in the green foam with a very sharp pocket knife. I cut rectangles to lay the EP's on there side.
On Sat I went to Harbour Freight and bought their aluminum case for $28 and the foam in that case is pre-cut so all you have to do is remove pieces to fit your items. The cuts, however, are approx 1/2 inch squares, maybe bigger. I put my green foam in the case instead for now. I plan on ordering two more lenses and will wait to make more cuts until I figure out how I want to fit all this stuff in the case. Menards also carries the same case under the Tool Shop brand. An old suit/travel case isn't a bad option but not as pretty.

Another idea you might consider is putting your items in a case in some kind of plastic wrap and try using the expanding insulation foam for a real custom fit. Just go easy on spraying the foam a little at a time. Tape off with painters tape everything you don't want the foam to touch. Expect some mess.

    Thanks folks,

After considering the facts I'm a bit geared towards buy a metal case and only make the internal arrangement for the eyepieces.
