    Default Tripod head

I was just given a fairly nice meade 80mm refractor. The tripod has the legs and a single bolt coming up thru the center. But the head is missing. Does any one have a schematic or some sort of resource on making one. The scope has a fork type mouth ( in that there is a bolt hole on ethier side.. thanks

You could try making a U shaped head, wide enough to accept the body of the scope. Attach( bolt ) the bottom of this to the tripod. Its a very simple Alt- Az mount. Maybe have a look in the ATM Forums, maybe some info there.

Maybe use a big piece of Plumbing PVC Pipe,4"-6" Dia split it Horizontally and to length. That would make a nice U cradle mount to work off off.
