    Thank you for the Post. It was interesting to read but I don't really understand the significance of the finding in the larger picture of things. Is there a simple explanation for me that you could give why this is important to discover? I mentioned understanding it in the larger picture of things... I have to confess I do not even have a context for that. But I would like to understand.

    No worry..... The main point is that we are missing out on the census of really bright and massive BHs. The paper here aims to correct that. The reason it is important to sort out is that different ideas of SMBH and galaxy formation can be tested against the numbers of galaxies and AGNs at different times. We need to correct the statistics of what we see to better reflect the statistics of what's out there in order to sort out our ideas about the formation of these objects. Hope that helps.
