    Thanks for the link n_F_A.

    It took me a moment to realise the bow wave was due to the object speeding through space. I was confusing myself with the idea a "pulse" from the Pulsar was making the bow wave but my mind was saying...the bow is the wrong shape for that!!
    Anyway, I'm glad I got my head around that. It is 1am here
