Thanks, I am taking a bit of a break from it. Might start the whole processes over again later this evening (clouds again) and hopefully start to ingrain all these steps.

    A lot to learn wow.

That's pretty good. I do not apply the STF to histogram transformation. I prefer to do iterative histogram transformations, clipping out the noise.
To control stars, do a star mask and then run Morphological Transformation through the star mask. You can use the default settings, but I prefer generally to go 5X5 and circular.

To manipulate the color, do a range mask, blur the edge of the range mask, then apply to the image. Then you can use the color saturation tool or curves (click the saturation button).

If you want to get really fancy, then do masked stretch. That will control the star bloat on 52 Cygni. But that's next week.

run Morphological Transformation through the star mask
I suppose you would have to invert the mask for that?

You don't have to invert the star mask.

First thing to do is just open the Star Mask process and apply it to your image to see what happens. You might get lucky, but chances are you'll need to do some adjustments to get a star mask that you like. Fiddle with it, and if you have questions come back and ask.

Okay here is a question I don't see covered anywhere.

The processes explorer tab. It has a flyout window which shows documentation on processes. The window is 'stuck' so whenever you open the process tab 2/3 of the screen is covered by a blank documentation. I cannot figure out how to get it to go away!

Just tried it... Click on the icon with the orange square. That seems to decide if the window is dynamic or active. When its off, just click in a blank space in the main window and it should shoot back to the left

Regarding Star Alignment, I found that if I don't CC properly, especially if I took my images at a dark sky site, Star alignment will align on hot pixels. I monitor the console as star alignment runs and if the pixel delta between the image being aligned and the reference image is <1, I know there is a problem. I will also blink the registered images to verify alignment.
