Personally, I find GradientXTerminator to be very useful. One other one which is a set of actions and is very low priced yet powerful would be Annie's Astro Actions.

Not sure if they’re the best, but I use the following depending on the need—I use Viveza on almost every image I process (astro & non-astro):
1. Nik Suite - Viveza 2 mostly
2. Creative Star Trail Script
3. Astronomy Tools Actions Set
