Default Is it possible to remove unwanted stars to make a image look better

    Hello all,

The following processed image of Pleiades I took today. I am pretty sure I am not seeing much detail here because this picture is just a stack of total 2 min exposure taken at 1.6 secs each. However, at post processing I was inclined towards removing some of the stars in the image so that I could bring attention to the constellation. First, I am not sure if I should do that. Secondly, I do not know how would I do that in Photoshop. I am a complete newbie. My knowledge about Photoshop is limited to a few videos on Youtube that's all.

Essentially, I am looking at any areas of making the following picture look a little better. :-)

    Looking for some advice. Thanks!

PS: it's -17C here in Chicago currently so standing outside with a DSLR on a tripod and manually focusing without a tracker was too brutal for me after 100 exposures.

Just about anything can be done with photoshop. Use your help index in PS and look up the magic eraser tool and also the clone stamp tool.

The internet is full of free photoshop tutorials and videos, I suggest you do a search of you tube, how to remove objects from images using photoshop, I am sure you will find all types of hits. I just did a google search and found hundreds of links with tutorials and such for those search words.

Here is one link for starters and shows you how to remove an object using clone stamp tool

    Tip**

You would see quite a bit more detail in your images if you increase your exposure time, not sure what you are shooting images with. I see you are stacking 200 1.6 second long exposures. Any camera on a tripod is capable of going for at least 20 seconds. You would see much more detail, especially after stacking and stretching if you were to increase your exposures even to just 15 seconds each.
