Default Dealing with chromatic noise in PI

A lot of times my images get chromatic noise in the background where the sky is empty which usually ends up with me making the sky pure black just so I can hide the noise, I'm tired of not knowing how to deal with it the right way. I use PixInsight for everything but I also have Photoshop CS5 if I need it. What would be the best tool and technique to get rid of that color noise?

please post a DropBox link to an unprocessed master light image created in Pi...
Pi has a few powerful tools for chroma and other noise, but which one or combination to use depends on the noise.
The biggest thing you can do to help is to make sure you dither during capture and use a suitable master bias (200 frames)

I don't want anyone to think this is my best work because I just grabbed something that I know has problems. Pelican Nebula that is really lacking data. Sometimes I think that I might introduce the chroma noise when I use TGVDenoise or ACDNR, would those introduce color splotches?

    IC5070tiff.jpg

I hope you don't mind but I took a crack at it too, mostly so I could see how it would compare to the correct (Phil's ) result.

After DBE ->BN -> CC -> SCNR -> histogram transform, I ran ACDNR with a very light mask but at high corrections in Lum and Chrom (8 and 9 respectively) with a multiscale prefilter. Not sure what the filter does but I was playing around with it and it seemed to help. I did another histogram transform and then did a masked sat boost. I ran ACDNR again, this time with a stronger mask to protect the nebula and brought lum and chrom down to 7 and 8 otherwise it lost more detail.

I'm sure it would be better to do TVGDenoise at the linear stage but I just cannot get the hang of that tool.

I think I may have lost some of the nebula by clipping too much or not stretching enough? Unfortunately as I was finishing up, I saved it to a jpg at full resolution and PI hung so I lost all my progress and can't go back and edit without starting over. I had to resize the jpg instead of the working image to post here.

Your guiding is awesome. Those stars are perfectly round! I wish mine was that good.

You did justice on this image. The nebula was just coming up into the part of the sky where the atmosphere wouldn't completely destroy the photos of it but I only got 13 shots of it before the sun began to show up in the histogram. I used the BPP tool in PI to calibrate and stack which does a great job at getting me round stars, it seems like it always makes my stars rounder than I'm expecting them to turn out. Plus I used the Stellarvue field flattener and the MoonLite focuser I got for the first time so it ended up I didn't have to crop nearly as much as I usually had to. The details for that image are 13 x 100 sec @ ISO1600.

What is the multiscale prefilter? And how'd you do a sat boost?

I really don't know what the multiscale prefilter is, it's in the ACDNR box. I was playing around trying to reduce the noise and decided to try it. I thought it made a little difference but I could have been fooling myself too.

For the saturation boost I follow Harry's tutorial :Harrysastroshed-pixinsight It's down towards the bottom of the list.

Basically you create a mask with the luminance channel to protect the background so that the curves transformation tool or saturation tool only works on the stars and nebula.

I have also noticed that the integration tools (BPP) do a good job of rounding up the stars. Even mine look better. The rejection images are cool to see. Sometimes it looks like little rings all over as it filters out the eccentricity of the stars.
