Default Streaking Noise: How to stop it?

Last night I imaged the Rho Ophiuchi/Anteres/M4 region and got an hour and a half worth of 3.5 minute exposures. I took 13 darks and combined them with DSS. The result was full of streaked noise. I have tried combining them several sifferent ways in DSS but havent had any success. Any help? Thanks!

You can see the noise trailing from the upper left to the lower right.

When you consider how good the rest of the pic is, it's hard to work out what is going on there.
My first thought was moire but from what?
It seems to be less than a pixel wide - what did you see on any individual frames?
Is it all over the pic?

I'd guess if it's streaked like that, it's due to loss of tracking or camera/mount shaking during an exposure. Check all your original pictures, see if one of them shows this (you might need to enhance the pictures to see it, if it's faint and DSS is somehow emphasising it). If it is one of the images, just delete that image and try again.

The other thing that comes to mind is that perhaps DSS is trying to stack the darks and is offsetting each one slightly, resulting in streaks instead of a proper averaged dark? Try it without using the darks at all to rule that out.

I stacked with and without darks. Without darks has much more streaked noise than the picture with darks. But each major streak on the image without darks disappears when the darks are added. Bias frames didn't seem to do much at all.

I was about to post the same question. And, my photos had the exact same streaking as yours. After re-stacking them a dozen times, trying various tweaks, leaving out darks, etc., I think there was just something in the atmosphere. The shots with the streaks were shot at a fairly low angle, maybe 30 or so degrees above the horizon (and towards a very, very tiny bit of sky glow from a town 30 miles away), and other shots aimed higher in the sky didn't have the streaks. I'm still not sure, as the streaking doesn't show up in the individual RAW photos... only in the stacked images. I'm still obsessing over... um, I mean working on, the image. I'll post a reply if I find something that fixes it. This was 10 210-second images taken with my camera mounted piggyback on my telescope.

The shot I took also taken with my camera piggybacked on my telescope. It was my 7D with a 200mm lens. My tracking wasn't very good and limited me to 3 1/2 minutes per exposure. This leads me to think it is readout noise or dark signal. As the frames are moved when stacking the pattern from the sensor moves making these streaks. The problem is that the darks are only removing part of it, not all of it. I may be wrong, I'm not sure.

I am sad to say this pattern has showed itself in every DSLR image I have taken since posting this. It doesn't show up in my CCD images. I can post more examples in hope of finding a solution.
