Smile Saturn 23rd May processed in registax

Tried again to process some Saturn images in registax, all taken with Canon 550D with Baader Hyperion Zoom, Eye Piece projection ISO 800, 1/4sec.

I'm really pleased with it and think it's my best Saturn image yet!

    This is 8 images stacked.

I really like that! Are you still holding your camera to the eyepiece?

It looks well. I find it difficult to image to be honest.
You caught it well. I can make out the ring line going across the planet surface.

It is difficult to image Declan, I've been trying to capture a shot of Saturn that I'm happy with for ages! When it comes to Registax I'm still a novice don't really know what I'm doing, in an earlier post Gus gave some registax instructions and I followed them (thanks Gus), I also tried changing a few settings. I'll have to up my game on the processing skills, I'm beginning to realise how much of a difference processing makes to the final image!!

Not for this shot Bill, I bought some adapters so I can attach the EP to the camera instead of the lens. It makes photographing through the eyepiece much easier!

You're right Gus the conditions were much better, it was a lovely night.........and it was warm!! lol

    Thanks for all your comments,

    Default Great job!

Very nicely done Carol, you got good definition on the disc, the ring shadow, and a hint of the banding. Saturn is a tough target...
