Arrow Sirius. This was first attempt using the wedge.

This was my first attempt at using the Celestron wedge with my cpc 8" recently. I was checking the system out. Conditions were very cold..frosty and new moon sky. Sirius was about an hour from setting.
    Stack of 4 x 15 secs
    ISO 800,
    50mm wide view lens.
Stacked manually in cs4 and silverpro.
Sirius was very bright and have more images to develop later.
Orion neb can just be seen in the top right of image.
    Thanks.

Declan, thanks for sharing this picture with us.
Do you see an improvement in tracking by using the wedge?
I see you have 15 seconds exposures. Is 15 second a better exposure time compared to what you got by not using the wedge?

I've paid for a (used) wedge yesterday and I'm waiting for it...

I found this wedge to be an excellent addition for AP. I only shot 15 secs exp for testing purposes unrelated to the wedge. Without the wedge, I got about 40/45 sec before trails became obvious. With the wedge and properly aligned (as I got one night when I took the time) I managed about 150 secs of quality images before trails...so it is worth it. Takes a little bit of time to set up but after a day it was second nature to me. Had heard some negative stuff about wedges...but I think its unfounded. I am very happy with the results i have had so far Ciyprian.
