Thanks for the kudos, gentlemen. Here is a wider shot, straight from the camera. It is the biggest file of the series. Perhaps someone can tease some more detail out of it. The whole sky was in windrows.

Edit: seems the file size was halved, I'll try to post in my album.

Love them both Pierre! Very nice work! Those are some beautiful cloud formations and I'm with Bryan. Very Creature Feature ish shots. Make good Halloween desktop wallpapers!

That moon was amazing the last couple of nights. First clear skies we've had here since Jan 24 and boy was it worth it. Luna was the largest I think I've ever seen naked eye. I was working both nights so didn't get to do any telescopic observation, but every time I was stopped at a traffic light or out of my car, I had to gaze up for a few and admire.

Nice work Pierre! I tried doing something similar last night with no luck. I was trying to pull some detail out of the moon plus capture the clouds. I'm hoping you have some camera settings that I can try.

    Really nice picture, indeed
But it really looks like a horror movie setting I think the picture is missing some bats or vampires.

It's just a point-and-shoot camera set to highest ISO. (400, I think) When zooming, I always use a tripod, and set the 10 second timer.
