    Default Moon Halo (with Mars)

After walking my dog, I noticed a great moon halo at my backyard. I grabbed the manfrotto, attached the camera and tried to take a one good shot of halo. Of course the halo was so huge that it didn't fit to frame (with Canon EFS 18-55 mm lens). I haven't done panorama or composite images before, so it was time to give a try to it. I took 10 images and started to practice with great linux open source software Hugin (it is available for Windows & Mac OSX too). After few almost good results this starts to look nice, although the moon & halo should be in the centre of the image.

Nevertheless, give this software a try!

Getting those halos can be hard , 22 degrees is a lot for most stock lens. I use a cheap (ish) fisheye .

You did well with the pics .
