Default M4 and M8 from La Palma

    Hello astrophotographers,

Today I would like to present three more results from our one-week stay (CEDIC-Team) in Athos (La Palma) in July.

M 4 is a member of the Messier catalogue, but it is not often photographed as the main object. Usually it is only shown as an additional object in images of the Rho Ophiuchi region. I like the neighbourhood and the contrast to Antares. Also the globular cluster NGC 6144 with a distance of 29,000 light years forms a nice contrast to M4, which is one of the nearest globular clusters with a distance of 7,200 light years.

The second and the third image show the well known Lagoon Nebula M8 and need no further explanation.

    M8 wide-field

    best,
    Bernhard

Hello Bernhard. A fantastic trio of images from you on the astrophoton site. I especially enjoyed the wide field capture of M8 from you. Beautiful nebulosity colors and dark dust lane. Thanks for taking the time to put these up on here for us to view Bernhard, and keep up this great astrophotography work.
