Default The Whirlpool, my first northern sky object.

Well after battling the laptop the previous night I got it up and running.

Since Hurricane Michael and some tree 'removal' a lot more of the northern sky opened up for me. Finally got around to trying to image in that direction.

    Here is M101 "Whirlpool"

Not super excited about the processing on this one, consider this a work in progress Don't like the background and there is actually more data in there. Clipped it some But the data shows promise

A little green too, but you're right, the data shows a lot of promise, plenty of detail and for a WIP it looks great. Personally, I find M101 to be a RPITA to process. Well done, Tom.

    Nice Pinwheel, Tom!

I had a stab at this one back on the 8th. I only got about 15 minutes total time on it as a first light on my ASI294MC Pro. I wasn't running the TEC cooler at the time. Hoping for an opportunity to target it on a non-moony night with the cooler running.

So the hurricane cleared some sky for you! Great.

I find M101 one of the more difficult objects to capture and to then process. So, yeah, I guess we all start on it and then keep trying to add more data.
