Default M16 - The Eagle Nebula

Managed to get this a couple of weeks ago and just got around to processing.

Definitely my best ever on this nebula. Hopefully I'll get some more time on this in May and June

Ditto on the Pillars Joe. A nice closeup view.

Living so near the equator, how do you perform Polar Alignment?

Without being able to see either pole, Polar alignment must be a difficult task. without a good polar alignment it must be tough to get long exposures. You live in a difficult location for this hobby.

Actually, IMO, it's the perfect location, since I can catch most of BOTH hemispheres.

It did take me a while to master PA. But it's not to hard. Basically, I rely on DARV.

I start out with a compass and an inclinometer. Not as good as using a polar scope and finding Polaris, but not bad either. Good enough for me to use DARV effectively.
