Default Color Moon from the 17th

While I don't consider this a very good capture, here's a color capture Moon from the 17th.

    LZOS Rubinar
    Altair 183C (2736x1824, 2x2 bin)
LZOS Orange filter (to increase detail and tonal contrast)

    20% of 5000 frames
    Wavelets in Registax
    Color/levels in GIMP

Color rebalance to more natural tones with the darker lava plains as grey point.

Very nice, I do like images that bring out the different surface tones.

Thanks. It was more a gear limitation issue as I used the Rubinar due to windy conditions. As much as I love the little guy, it's infected with bad case of Russentonne astigmatism when it should be giving an ETX-105 a run for it's money.

Hi Russell. A superb lunar image from you. You have an excellent grey scale, and lots of sharp crater and ejecta ray details. This is very nice work from you Russell.

The ejecta really popped with the orange filter once I set the grey point. It was almost like imaging through a completely different scope. I'm just kicking myself in the butt for not doing it sooner. I also have an old Kodak Ektar deep amber I want to try using the same process, but with my SN8 and no binning.
