Very nice Benjamin - Great data to work with.

If you want to play with it you might enjoy the following tutorial on using the new ColorMask script. It's easy to use and it allows you to take the final image and change the colors around to suit your own taste. It's easy, powerful, and fun.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imlwGzV7RiE

Since it's raining and cloudy here I needed something to do. So, I downloaded your image and used the ColorMask script to change the periphery of the Rosette to a golden/rust color and the interior to more of a Lagoon-blue. I can share it if you are interested.

    Thanks for sharing.

Hi Steve, sure share it. I did use the color mask script and yes I am not entirely happy with my final result. I spent way too much time down dead end roads and I was getting tired.

I also have gotten "tired" of processing many images with too many dead end roads. Maybe we have "driven" to some of the same dead ends!

I never knew about the ColorMask script until it was mentioned in one of the posts here on the forum. They shared the link and I watched the video and was amazed at the power of this script. My efforts with your image is below. I only used the ColorMask script and finished with SCNR to remove any lingering green. Towards the end of the processing I used the "L" channel in Curves along with a Blue Color Mask to reduce the Luminance which helped to deepen the blue color.

I'm no expert at NB processing for sure. These colors just looked more like what I've seen in the past. Hope you like it.

Thanks for allowing me to share this. I'm trying to stay busy to keep my mind occupied.

    All the best,

    Steve

That's awesome Steve. Much more like I wanted it to look like in the first place. I'll go back and touch it up like you did in it's native xisf format. I did find stretching the image using masked stretch worked much better at preventing magenta stars in the first place. I did not have to use color mask script to get rid of any magenta.

Glad it helped. That tutorial opened up a whole new world for me. I sometimes even use it with my DSLR images.

    Have fun.
