    Default Comet P21 10 September 2018

This is a single 20 second exposure (L: Color; R: Inverted grayscale) using my ASI224MC and ED80T. When I have time this evening I will see if I can get more detail by stacking multiple exposures.

Nice one David; good for you! I've been out looking for it every clear night/chance I get, but my 10" is getting a rebuild and since you have a nice 20 sec exposure, i'll take that
My 102 or 4.5" just won't let me see it, especially from here

Hope you get some more in, thanks for the share!

Thanks Mark. I waited until an hour before dawn when P21 was pretty high in the sky and above the worst light pollution. Even so, given the Bortle 7 zone that is my backyard I was surprised to see the comet, faint though it was, through the EP of my 80mm refractor - transparency was excellent so that helped.

Good job. I envy you. I have been waiting to see the comet. First the moon, then the clouds prevented me. I finally got a binocular view this morning. I would have loved to have my imaging scope set up.

Here is the result of stacking 50 20second lights and 3 darks, processed with DSS, Adobe CS2 and MS Photo. I am still not completely happy with the color balance but I think this is as good as it gets.
