    Default Mars July 26th

Here is my first Mars night photo.

I took about 20% of 2000 frames in Firecapture with my AD10 that had a ZWO385mc with a Baader Q Turret barlow around 3x . Used Autostakkert then Registax then PScc. The skies were clear, but the moon was right in the middle of Mars and Saturn shining bright. I wonder when this dust storm will end. I just got done a week of storms here at night which held me in.

    Great image (under the circumstances).

And this is exactly what I saw 2 nights ago minus the dark shading in your image. The lack of Martian detail is truly depressing!

Thanks, and it is dissappointing, was just checking on how long they last. The article said even if it ended now the dust would linger in the air for quite some time.

There was an opposition several years ago where the dust storm erased the surface detail for nearly an entire year!

Thanks Bryan, I forgot to mention that I used it with the baader M&S Glow. Maybe that helped a bit. I did 1/3 with it out and rest with it. This one had it.

Excellent shot of the planet. Gives a clear picture of just how much dust is swirling around. Glad I don't have to live there.
