Default NGC 7000 From the heart of the lightbulb.

    Hello all!

The last two nights I have been capturing NGC 7000 from my urban observatory. I stacked the 47 subs and wound up with what looks like a blank page. Only after kicking it around in Pixinsight did I manage to see any of the data.

    Here they are:

    NGC7000w.jpg
    The stacked image.

After kicking it around in Pixinsight.

Note the crossing satellites crossing and the dust motes.... need to find a way to clean that sensor's window, but I'm terrified of scratching it!

The sad thing is that the light pollution is only going to be getting worse for me here because of the bus-way the city is building right next to me. I have a sinking feeling that once they install all that LED street lighting I will be out of business.

They recently installed LED streetlights in our neighborhood and even with blinds closed, it looks like there's a full moon out every evening.

We got 4 housing complex north of us and enough lights to do a small town.
To the South and Southwest got a big farm and he likes his dark.
Had to use a dark shade we put up to block the light. Last week had a power outage for over 4 hours because of an accident involving a truck and power pole. That was when my daughter got a look at M31.

    Nice start on the nebula.

What type of image sensor are you using?

I have a DSLR and blow off the image sensor with canned air. Works great. Flats take care of anything that is left.

Sorry about the LP. But where there's a will, there's a way. You can block all of it. But you can usually work around it.

    Nice image!
