19 second subs! This turned out great. I'm reading a book, Very Short Astrophotography, that address getting images like this.
I see you are using Canon cameras. Do you have your camera set up to take one image after the other? I have the Rebel Xsi and have to push the exposure button on the computer for each image. I would be nice to set it up for multiple images.

    Great job!

    Thanks,
I am using Camera Shoot Timer Remote Control to shoot images automatically. It is very useful for time lapse and astrophotography. Cost about $20.

    Clear skies,

Very nice. Your tracking looks good and you captured a lot of detail. I recommend desaturating the pure magenta channel and reducing the saturation overall. Set your gray point a fair distance away from the galaxy since it extends farther than you would expect. The background sky looks gray to the human eye and is not truly black; I recommend a target RGB values of 15 to 20 for each of the color channels for this point. Well done! You may want to consider taking some shorter subs that you can stack and combine via HDR techniques with this target due to the very high dynamic range from the center to the outside. This will allow you to pull out the fainter outer regions and not lose resolution for the center.

Amazing what you can do with LOTS of short subs.

You have done a good job of getting the core of Andromeda displayed. As John says, there is a lot more that may be accessible beyond that core. Since your tracking looks good, you may want to consider adding some longer subs as well to capture the fainter outer regions.

Great job and capturing and processing this fascinating object.
