    Default Spiral Galaxy IC 342

    Hello everyone,

This is an image I have been working on for some time. For whatever reason, this target has been a cloud magnet for me. Even the clearest nights would turn hazy after slewing to IC 342. Out of 163 subs, I was only able to keep 76 due to haze and faint cloud cover. Even harder then capturing this target though was trying to reveal it in post-processing...this galaxy is faint! I have been working this data repeatedly in Pixinsight over the last 6 weeks or so, and have finally reached a point where I am happy with the image (mostly). Anyway, thanks for looking. Details can be found below.

    IC 342

Very nice image, James! I see it has a SB of 14.9 -- that's pretty darned dim!

Awesome James, You did a great job on this one and the results are worth the effort you put into it. The colors of both the stars and the DSO are fantastic.
