    Default Another M-1



    This is stacked in DSS because I couldn't get PI to stack anything. Processed in PI, aside from some final tweaking in PS. It's a bit on the blue side from the CLS filter and I haven't been able to fix that yet. Did a color calibration in PI but that didn't seem to help the final image.

    Camera: Unmodded Canon 1000D
    Filter: Astonomik clip in
    Guide scope: Orion Mag mini 50 mm, PHD
    Exposure: 31x240sec, ISO 800 saved as RAW
    Darks: 50
    Bias: 100
    Flats: 50x1/40sec, ISO 800 taken with Gerd Neumann flat panel
    Average Light Pollution: Red zone, moderate transparency
    Software: Backyard EOS, DSS, Pixinsight, Photoshop
    Attached Images Attached Images
    Scopes: Orange Tube C-8, Explore Scientific ED102CF, Mount/Guider: CG5-GT, Orion SSAG autoguider

    Nice!!! Got really cool color and details!

    Thinking about trying my luck with the 8" on this target as a next project. You may just have inspired me!

    Did you shoot this at F10 (I assume 2032mm?) or F6.3?

    Thanks Mike. This was done at f6.3. I've never been successful at f10, too much for my mount and guider.
