Default Running Chicken nebula (IC 2948)

    Running Chicken region

This is an image of the main body of the Running Chicken nebula (IC 2948). There are plenty of interesting features to enjoy in this object. Subtle gradations, swirling forms and a sort of curtain effect just above Lambda Centauri (star) in the top left corner. In the dead centre there are several distinct dark pits known as Thackeray's globules, which are surrounded by a sprinkling of bright stars.

    Hi Whale!

Very impressive capture for only 70 minutes! Nice and smooth, so smooth indeed that I wonder if it can be pushed more with a HDR layer blended in? Is there a flattener available for this Tak?

    Thanks for posting!

Hi Jesper, a friend of mine thinks that TOA-67 the might work or the TOA-35 would work for smaller chips. I'm hoping to borrow these flatteners and see if they make a difference. I'll let you know once the results are in!

When FS-128 was first produced chips were a lot smaller and it was decided that no flat was required. This image was produced with no flattener with 8300 chip.

    All the best
