Default M81..Just for the heck of it!

Just for the heck of it, I thought I'd radically crop just M81 out of my last image, just to see what the difference was with a CCD image. I know, in the past, when I would crop one of my DSLR images this much....let's just say, they didn't come out too good! I was quite surprised that with less than 5 hours of data, there was this much detail. Maybe once I learn how to "really" do CCD imaging, I'll get some pretty awesome images like you "PROS"!!
Thanks for lookin' and hope ya like it!!

    Hi Tom,

Stood up really well and makes a great standalone, you always tend to see the pair or more recently M82 on its own.

Hi Tom. Well, the newest version of M81 took the cropping very well. This is a great job with your TV85 scope and QHY8M camera on this image. The central core is beautiful, and the delicate spiral arms show up well. I think that you already know what you are doing with a nice capture like this. It was a pleasure to view this, so thanks for sharing this with us Tom.
