Default Poor Jupiter in poor conditions

    jdec16.jpg

Some snow got into my observatory when I rolled off the roof. I probably should have knocked it off first. Equipment is fine just annoying. -10c last night but it didn't feel that cold despite the windchill being -16 It was actually clearish, but the seeing was poor as is typical. What I didn't realize is that snow had blown all over the corrector. With Jupiter almost straight up I simply didn't notice. I wasn't using my dew heater since I still have it inside from taking it to my other site last week. No doubt that further degraded the image, but still figured I'd post this. It's been a while.

Too bad the snow massed with the image, nonetheless it is still pretty nice I'd say. Nice job Andrew

I feel your pain with the weather. I made the mistake of buying a new mount and its been cloudy for ages, surprisingly ;-) I even tried to get outside tonight, but before I could do anything useful it clouded over. Still you got a half decent image, that most of us would be excited about.

Hello Corpusse. Well, even with the snow in the observatory, you still came away with a nice Jupiter image. The two equatorial belts, polar caps, and the GRS show nicely. Thanks for sharing this capture with us, and best of regards.
