Default Perseid meteor shower: This bright meteor August 11 2013

August 11 2013 one day before Perseid maximum. Weather is nice, no moon. A lot of small meteors were observerd.
This is bright one across the Cygnus constellation

Interesting, how bright it will be at maximum?

    Clear skies,
    Valentin

Hello Valentin. A great Perseid Meteor shot from you. You got this one dead on too. Wow, that really is bright. I went out last night for a couple of hours, and even though my sky was somewhat finally decent, I could only catch three, and none of them had the intensity of yours. However, now that the maximum is upon us, I will be out there again tonight. Thanks for this amazing image, and best wishes for more clear skies.

Very nice capture. It's the luck of the draw. Despite the lack of meteors on the 12th, I like the compositions of the pictures. How long were your frames? There are no star trails. Were you tracking?

    Thanks,
    Paul

I used tripod, no tracking. First image August 11 has 2 min duration, so you see star trails, August 12 - I cleaned up my camera memory stick and was able got more images, used duration 30 seconds - about 200 photos. For 30 seconds star trails are very small for this wide angle canon lens.

Started to lean how to edit Milky Way in Photoshop. August 12, 4 images, 30 seconds each, Tripod, Canon 40D, DeepSkyStacker, PhotoShop

Hello Astroval. Wow, first great Perseid captures and now this. Just a dazzling Milky Way for just 4 subs at 30 second exposures. Look at all of those beautiful stars and nebulosity. This is a keeper, to print out and hang on the wall, so thanks for sharing this image with us.
