Default first light with full spectrum nex-5n

received my new camera today not much time with it tonight

    iso 1600 on all shots

    9 x 10s
    10 x 20s
    9 x 30s
    2 x 40s (time ran out)

no darks, flats or bias frames. used the camera's noise reduction

just color balance and levels attempted. (doesn't capture green as much as red or blue)

also posting a picture done with non-modded nex-5n for comparison

I don't know which ones the new one, but the blue image sure is pretty! Thanks for sharing.

Hello Carch, A good first shot of M42 with the new camera. I like the first one the best, as you have caught the “classic” look. Thanks for putting the nice views up on here for us to enjoy, and best wishes on your next astrophotography session.

    Looks like a great start.
The first pic is capturing closer to the true colour. There is not a lot of "green" in space.

For terrestrial (not AP!) you will need to use a custom white balance or correct in post-processing.

... and start using flats and darks (and bias frames).
