    Default The Pelican Nebula IC5070 & IC5067



    Situated close to the North America Nebula in Cygnus
    Also taken at local Astro camp

    35x 5min subs, Modified Canon 450D
    Skywatcher ED80
    Guided with QHY5 and ST80 on an NEQ6 mount
    Captured in APT with dithering

    Mount: NEQ6 Imaging telescopes: ETX 125 OTA (for planetary) and Phillips webcam SPC900, DMK21, Skywatcher Pro ED120, Skywatcher Evostar ED80, Skywatcher 200PDS
    Camera: Modified Canon EOS 450D, Atik383L Mono, QHY8L OSC,
    Guiding: Skywatcher ST80 Guiding camera: QHY5 Observatory: SkyPOD

    this is an excellent capture of my favourite Pelican. I simply can't look enough to 'discover' the finest details, both in the Pelican, and in the 'Florida' of the North America.

    Great image. The long flowing column by the head is very interesting. The wide shot really captures the shape.

    We were there for 3 nights.
    1st night, M13 then Iris nebula (darkness was about 10.30 - 3am)
    2nd Night (part 2 Iris nebula - started late)
    3rd Night (Moon, then pelican nebula)
    Day time Sun (not posted yet).
