    Default Thor's Helmet.



    Hi,
    Hereís my image of Thorís Helmet from last night, Iíve always wanted to have a go at this. It probably requires more data but Iím happy with the result.
    Telescope 8Ē f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
    Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 1600 and 800.
    5 x 300 sec subs ISO 1600
    8 x 360 sec subs ISO 800.
    9 dark frames, 9 flat frames and 9 bias.
    Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.

    Very nice! This is a target that has thus far escaped my scope, not for long I think.

    Great image of a small target (NGC2359)...you have IC468 in there too. I took some 45 second images of this a while ago, for some reason your image is way better than mine... Nice work Justin, thanks for sharing.

    Oh now your'e making me feel bad....I took 10, 45 sec images with a iOptron 90mm just as a test of the scope. I don't remember if DSS stacked them all, but I usually set it to process the best 90%. Here's a link for your amusement---> NGC2359 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

    Excellent lesson in the importance of collecting lots of photons vs less photons. Lol. When my iEQ45 and Stellarvue 90mm Raptor arrive, I'm definitely going to revisit that target.
