    Saturn April 3, 2011 - Celestron 4SE (102mm) telescope, 2x barlow, NexImage

I tried to compare Saturn photo with UV/Infrared Cutoff filter vs. without filter.

Upper photo - with UV/Infrared Cutoff Filter
    Bottom photo - without filter

    Time difference about 1 hour

Video duration 7 min (420sec), Frame Rate 5 frames/second, 2100 frames - for each photo

    Registax 6 and Photoshop

    Clear skies,
    Valentin

That's an interesting comparison ... your two photos say a lot about the effect of the filters.

The filter certainly seems to enhance the banding features.

I enjoyed seeing this comparison, thanks so much for sharing it with us.
