    Default M41,M42,M45 and double cluster

Thursday i realised that i can unscrew the piece that holds the eyepieces in the focuser and below it are threads that screw directly into my t-ring. Now i can achieve focus with my Rebel XS on the Omni XLT without the 2x barlow!

That night i had a game and didnt plan to really do any imaging but i went out just to test if i could achieve focus in this setup. The night was very clear! too clear to just pass up in fact and decided to get what i could in the 2 hours i had to spare.

ALl images stacked and processed mainly in DSS and some final adjsutments in Photoshop. Also used NoiseWare CE to reduce noise. (excellent program highly recommended and free)

    Double Cluster: (used frames) 1x15s, 1x30s, 10x25s - ISO 800 - 12 frames - no darks,flats or bias. Total Exp: 4m 54s

    M41: (used frames) 2x10s, 1x20s, 1x30s Total: 1m 10s - 4 frames - ISO 800 .

Orion Nebula: 8m 1s -16 frames -ISO 800 no darks (not sure which frames were used as i only found the output html description option in DSS afterwards.

M45 (used frames)1x30s, 9x45s,9x55s- ISO 800 - no darks. Total Exp:15m 30s - 19 frames. Was very close to the moon and low in the sky.

Thanks! forgot to mention how great Bhatinov masks are! even my homemade one from a piece of cardboard... well worth the effort of cutting all those slots.

now to learn how to use these setting circles to find some new stuff lol
