    Default My first ever astrophotograph

It's taken me 6 weeks from getting my scope, and a few weeks later the new QHY8L camera, to reading enough about alignment, light pollution, exposures, imaging (which now seems like second nature...!) to produce this image. And it was only last Monday that the skies were clear enough in London to take 20 or so images of M3, which are stacked here... Even 3 months ago I never would of thought I'd be taking images of globular clusters in the freezing cold March weather. I would have laughed at the idea.
    Addicitive isn't it?

    C8 SCT XLT on AS-GT
    f/6.3 reducer / Astronomik CLS filter / QHY8L camera
    20 x 60s stacked in Maxim
Can't remember if it was guided, as I was so happy the images were coming out OK on my laptop... if it was, it was PHD.

Thank you all for your input to this forum - it's been an invaluable source of learning and advice.

    Thanks all.

Gus, the offsets did work, but it also helps if the debayer is done at the right stage in the process! Otherwise you get interesting results...
