    Seems to work for me.

Within Stellarium, try hitting "F2" and then select the "Restore Defaults" button.

f2 doesnt do anything. i was going to go back to an earlier version that always worked. excellent program but not if it doesnt work. there are no errors and the sky comes up but i cant see any info icons. not sure if its stellarium or win 10. i've reinstalled 3 times. maybe i'll try a smaller off brand program to get me able to do some viewing. open to all suggestions. thanks folks.

F2 works for me on the latest version of Stellarium.

Some computers have the F buttons assigned to other functions and do not, by default, work like they did on older PC's. Do you have an FN key on your keyboard? These are typically on the lower left-hand side on the row with CTRL, ALT, the Windows key (windows logo). Do you have an FN key or something labeled similar to that? If so, press that key and hold and then press F2 (while in Stellarium). See if that will bring up the appropriate dialog box for you.

    Just a thought...
