    Default Ngc 253, 288 & 247

I had the opportunity to observe these from my backyard, border orange/yellow and then from a green site the next night. I used a XT10, 21mm and 13mm Stratus and 5mm Hyperion. Also used a 12.5 inch dob to compare views.

NGC 253 is pretty close to what I saw. The first night humidity was very high and an inversion was settling in the valley and that caused poor seeing on a clear night (hate that). The next night I was up a little so out of the building inversion and out farther.

NGC 288 was a nice globular that at high power showed some stars individually. At 57x a bright core was seen with a halo around it.

NGC 247 was a galaxy that I had use to averted vision at both location to get it to come out, that and patience. This sketch I probably need to redo as it was fainter.

Hope you enjoy them. They are digital sketches based on the originals. I find I don't like how the originals post online, my scanner doesn't seem to capture them like I view them, so the digital conveys it also so I use that. I prefer my sketches in my sketch book done at the eyepiece though.
