Default Stars that are not Stars

    Hello guys,

Difficult times here...weather is being wonderful and I wanted to try again the Messier Marathon in binos but just the same week of the last new moon my back was playing against me (right leg was so painful) and a CT revealed two discs hernias that are going to get me in bed and rest for some time. Anyways...I have some back up plans processing my sketches and reading this blog and other astro-stuff.

Here is an sketch I've made some time ago. M77 in binoculars. It does not look like much but it is just the feeling of traveling back 60Mly in the past

    M71 and M77.jpg

The sketch processed is here: Polluted Skies stargazing: Stars that are not Stars

Clear skies and please keep posting fun stuff as always

Hi Luis! Best of luck with your back, I definitely feel your pain. I am 9 days into recovering from having surgery due to a herniation at L5/S1 that was pinching my right nerve root. Get a wedge pillow or stack a couple of extras up for your legs and try to sleep with them slightly elevated. This helped me greatly at night. Great sketches!

Hey Craig. Thanks a lot for the advice. I am actually sleeping in a hard mattress bed (really hard) and it is helping a lot. I have to endure my pain, till I can find an orthopedics doctor (probably in my country) that can read well the CT. It does not seem as bad as the last time when I underwent a surgery but still bothersome.

Feeling much better in this second week of rest plus my wife's family brought some good pain killers.

Hello my friend! An enjoyable sketch and a wonderful write up on your blog. Thanks much for that.

Sorry to hear about your back trouble. And wouldn't you just know the weather would be great when you are out of commission! I do hope you get back to normal as soon as possible and can hop back on the motorcycle and get back to your observing spot.
