Default Messier 40 Sketch Award- I am starting the first leg!

These sketches were from four observing sessions last fall and winter. They were my first views of the Messier objects using a scope that I knew very little about and I only had a couple of decent eyepieces at the time. For most of my views I used a 35mm Panoptic and sometimes a 56mm Meade with my f10 LX200 10" EMC scope. My sketching skills need a lot of work as you will quickly see. Recently I have started to revisit all the Messiers with my larger XX14g dob but I have not had the opportunity to sketch any of them yet because I am still in the learning curve with that scope!
There are two objects per page and I will submit two pages at a time. I am not counting when I screwed up and sketched M34 twice and a sketch of Jupiter on the last page
This is the first time that I have ever sketched anything so please go easy on me! Also I hope they show up ok because my computer skills are only surpassed by my sketching skills!

Two more pages. The Milky Way was so bright on this night that it illuminated the concrete pad around my scope. It was a beautiful night!

Two more pages from 10/17/14. The dew was extremely heavy and it was the first time that I had ever used a dew heater. Worked pretty well!

A couple of meteors flew through my FOV while sketching M33 & M56. I thought one meteor was pretty cool but two? WOW!

Last three sketches for 10/17/14. Everything was soaking wet and my back was killing me. I was determined to stay out all night!

Thanks Bryan! Some of these seem a little light. I tried to darken them as much as I could.

These next two pages include M57 the Ring Nebula in Lyra! It didn't respond well with the 35mm eyepiece but when I put that 9mm in the focuser it really came alive! At 278X that was a lot of magnification for the LX200 but the atmosphere was so clear that it really performed well!
