Default Messier Sketch Award Program by musiclucho....

    Hello everyone,

After having collected several sketches not only from Messier objects but other catalogs, I decided to apply for the first 40 Messier sketches using just my raw sketches. Because I had several sketches made through the binoculars, some of them included more than 1 Messier Object. I tried to show you my best sketches but also included some of my first sketches where perhaps I did not sketch the whole FOV or I wrote my notes in spanish. My english is getting better and better since I started to write my blog, so please forgive my very bad notes in the sketches ....

I included a excel spreadsheet with the attachment I'm going to include here.

    M40 Sketch award.xls

Hope you can enjoy this bunch of sketches and of course you are very welcome to see them once processed in my blog.

Hi LG! You did a great job on your sketches and I enjoyed looking at all of them. A lot of work goes into a project like this. I have a bunch of sketches that I have made from time to time but my sketching skills are not on par with many of the great ones that I have seen here. Thanks for sharing them with us and good luck on the award!

Boy, those are some great sketches! It looks like you took great care in many ways (e.g. getting the dot sizes to accurately represent the brightness of the stars). How long would you spend on a sketch with a fair amount of detail, say the M45 one?

Thanks for posting since you've given me inspiration to try to improve my sketches!
